Designer Marika Meyer helped create a lively yet functional space for the couple and their three daughters.

Maggie Sullivan and her husband moved from the city to Chevy Chase, Maryland, embracing vibrant colors in their 1918 Dutch Colonial home. Inspired by Maggie’s time in Puerto Rico, the house is filled with bold hues, particularly blues and turquoise, which hold sentimental value. Designer Marika Meyer helped create a lively yet functional space for the couple and their three daughters.

The living room design centered around a rug, influencing the choice of Holly Hunt fabric for the sofas and a striped Romo fabric for the armchair. The living room became a favorite for the girls, leading to the addition of a second couch.

For their love of cooking, the couple expanded the kitchen into a former patio. Architect Jim Rill designed a spacious island, and Maggie selected a striking Waterworks backsplash resembling fish scales. The home reflects the family’s dynamic lifestyle while incorporating personal and meaningful design choices.
